Polymer Search Help

Key Word or Phrase Search:

To add a key word or phrase to your search, type the word(s) in the text box and click the "Search" button.  A list will be returned of all the materials that contain the text you typed.  This search works best when you enter unique, unambiguous terms that are applicable to a small list of materials.

Please note that punctuation and spacing matter; since most Equistar materials include a trademark symbol, a search for " Petrothene GA 501-020 " will not yield any results, although " Petrothene " or " GA 501-020 " will.  Try to use the shortest unique phrase that you can, perhaps "Petrothene" in this example.

The Keyword Search does not recognize wildcard characters, such as " * " or " ? ".  Instead, truncated terms entered without a wildcard character will still find complete words, for example, typing " *thene " in the Keyword Search in the hope of finding both " Petrothene " and " Microthene " products yields zero results.  However, if you type " thene ", you would find both " Petrothene " and " Microthene " products. Additionally, the Keyword Search does not support any type of quotation marks or parentheses to group terms.

Polymer Property Search:

To add a material property to your search, select a property from the drop-down list, enter a value range, select a unit of measure, and click the "Search" button. The nominal property values that appear on the data sheets will be searched. You can enter values in the following ways:

If you are searching for materials that meet your property specification(s), and a material does not have that data point available, then that material is not returned from the search.  For example, if you are searching on " LDPE " you would get over 50 results, but when you add a " Dart Drop " with a " Min " of " 0 g ", you drop down to just over 20 results because many of the " LDPE " materials don't have a " Dart Drop " value listed.
